Collection
“I tried to do that with the approach of a documentary photographer but also with basic knowledges of hunting, vernacular literature, neutralistic science, taxidermy, zoology and ethology”.
• Collection: is an installation witch involves objects collected on the ground during about two years of walks through the Italian woods and during other researches. The finds (after being cataloged and prepared) have been preserved in a series of totally handmade wood showcases, bottles and jars. Found objects are: shotgun shells, plumes, leaves, flowers, bones and skulls, pine cones, snake molting but also illustrations, antlers, porcupine’s stings, hunting trophies and other interesting things about Hunting and Nature. The goal is to recreate natural scenes (as little dioramas) mixing natural and no-natural elements.
• Finds: a series of finds collected during the researches on “the ground” and after
catalogued and archived. This objects are basically classified on two groups: as natural (leaves, pine cones, feathers, bones, antlers, snake’s molting, etc.) and as no-natural (shotgun shell and other objects apparently belonged to hunters).
A selection of this finds has been preserved in the Collection.
